Track & Field

  • In order to participate in Track, and you are a 7th grader or an 8th grader that did not turn a physical into the Athletic Office this year,  you must provide a sports physical dated AFTER April 15, 2022.  

     

    Track sign ups will be done online from Monday, March 13th through Friday, March 17th.

    Information will be passed out about track season through email after sign ups are complete.

     

    There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, March 21st  from 3-4pm in the Holmes Cafeteria.  Track information and participation will be discussed then.

     

    First day of practice - Monday, April 3rd  from 3-4:30pm.

    There will be one boys team (approx. 60 players).

    There will be one girls team (approx. 60 players).

    All practices begin directly after school, and run until 4:30 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.  No practices on Thursday.  There are no practices on days when school is not in session.  We will try to start all meets at 3:45.

    There will not be a bus to transport athletes to away meets this year.   Parents will need to drive their child to awy meets. If you cannot provide transportation to away meets please do not sign up.  You must have rides ready for pick up at 4:45 on practice days and immediately after meets (approx. 6:30).  Please be advised that this time is an estimate, times will vary due to traffic, meet length, location,  etc.  Late pick ups may result in removal from the team.

    • Field:  Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put
    • Sprints:  70 M, 100 M, 200 M, 400 M
    • Distance:  800 M, 1600 M, 3200 M
    • Hurdles:  55 M, 200 M
    • Relays:  400 M, 800 M, 1600 M, 3200 M
