Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Moorton

I teach a variety of Visual Art classes in this building!  Livonia Public Schools has been my place of employment since 1998 and is where I have taught Art K-12.  I graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Art Education and History Education. Also, I attained my Masters Degree in Humanities from Central Michigan University.

Born and raised in the Metro Detroit area, I consider myself lucky to experience all four seasons. Being near a diverse and cultured major city has been a great experience.  Family is very important to me.  I have been married for over 26 years and I have two grown sons that I hold dear. In addition, I have a family dog that we rescued and he means the world to me. I enjoy learning about other cultures and art through reading & travel and I enjoy sharing those experiences with my students as often as possible. Being outdoors and getting fresh air is essential to me, so I enjoy walking, biking, and kayaking.  Also, I truly enjoy teaching secondary students and watching them develop their creativity every day.
