Greetings Frost Middle School Community,

Welcome to the 2021/2022 school year, we are so happy to have you as a part of the Frost family. Frost Middle School is one of three middle schools that serves the Livonia Public Schools District. In addition to a robust general education program, Frost is home to several of the districts’ magnet programs including the Middle School Alternative Classrooms for the Academically Talented (MACAT), center-based ASD and MoCI, and center-based cross categorical special education. Frost also offers a variety of elective classes including: Project Lead The Way (PLTW) STEM courses; opportunities in band, orchestra, choir and guitar; visual and industrial arts; consumer sciences, and foreign language.

At Frost, we have a well established PBIS based system of behavioral support to provide our students the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe, structured, positive environment that enables them to become empowered, life-long learners. Our PBIS team is always looking for ways to highlight and reward student achievement and works in collaboration with parents and students to stay informed and relevant to all of our stakeholder groups.

Due to the diverse educational programming at Frost, we employ a full-time social worker, school psychologist, and Student Assistance Provider (SAP) in addition to two full time counselors, and a team leader for all special education programming. These professionals work collaboratively to support the social and emotional well-being of all Frost students and work in cooperation with teaching staff to employ best practices for learning in a supportive environment.

Overall, Frost Middle School provides a unique learning environment for all students to find their voice and have full access to a fair and equitable education. We are so excited to welcome you to our school!

Be safe and well,

Shanan Wheeler, Ed.S.
