Mrs. Jackie McPherson
Hi! and welcome to Young Fives program at Jackson Early Childhood Center! I am so excited to be your child's teacher and am looking forward to an amazing year of learning and fun!
A little about myself. I have my undergrad degree in early childhood from the University of Michigan. I also have my masters in reading instruction from Concordia University. I have been a teacher for the past 20 years, teaching preschool and kindergarten in many different environments. Fall 2022 will be my 4th year in Young Fives! I love to create a classroom where each child is excited to come each day. I work hard to make learning happen through play and intentional teaching. One of my favorite things to do as a teacher of young children is to make connections with families. If you have any questions/concerns/thoughts this year, please don't hesitate to ask. You can always reach me by email (address will be found below).
Outside of school I am a busy wife and mom to 4 children. My oldest is in 9th grade at Stevenson. He loves all things sports and plays travel baseball, which consumes much of our time! My oldest daughter is going into 8th grade, at Holmes. She loves horses and rides competitively. Finally I have boy/girl twins that are going into 4th grade. My son loves sports, like his big brother, and my daughter loves to read and create anything art related. She is also doing gymnastics. They are truly a blessing and keep me very busy outside of the classroom. When I am not being a mom/chauffer, I love to read, relax, and cheer on my favorite sports team, The University of Michigan!
Again, I am looking forward to a great year with your child and I hope that I can help them be successful in the years to come!
