Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Downs and I am a special education teacher at Emerson Middle School! My responsibilities include: managing my caseload students and writing their IEPs, working in the resource room, and co-teaching math. I am passionate about helping students succeed in both academics and independence as we prepare students for high school and beyond. More personally, I am a huge sports fan and enjoy spending time with my family watching and attending sporting events. I also enjoy traveling, watching the Steelers, and listening to Bruce Springsteen! I have one son, Nicholas, who attends Wittenberg University in Ohio and is studying Sports Management.  I also have a daughter, Madelyn, who is married to David.  Family time is very important to me!
