Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Moore

Welcome to my website!  I have been teaching mathematics at Franklin since 2003 and have taught courses ranging from Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometric Explorations, IB Math Studies, Calculus and Financial Literacy.  I have my Bachelor's degree from University of Michigan in Mathematics and my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Easterm Michigan University.  I enjoy teaching and find it very rewarding to watch a struggling student find success in math and gain confidence.

A few understandings I have found to hold true over my time teaching:

1. Whether you believe you can or believe you cannot, either way you are right.

2. Your parents' success in math class does not determine your success in math class but comments made by well-intentioned parents about their success/struggle with math certainly can help or hinder!

3. Math is a language like any other.  Learn the alphabet (symbols), learn to read, write and interpret sentences (equations, inequalities, etc) and then practice and apply.  You cannot expect to be fluent in any language that you do not study and practice!
