Mr. John Santi

It is my pleasure to welcome your child into my classroom for the upcoming school year.  This is my 22nd year in the district, my 14th here at Johnson.  I am a graduate of Wayne State University and Franklin High School.  I reside in Livonia with my wife Cathy (a fifth grade teacher at Cooper Upper Elementary), and our three children, Paityn (20 – Grand Valley State – currently part of the college program at Disney World), Luke (18 – Michigan State), and Drew (10 - Cooper).  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing basketball, coaching basketball, reading, and traveling.

It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students.  I want my students to be eager participants in the learning process.  I would like them to understand that education is a stepping-stone for further successes in life.  My mission includes wanting students to become problem-solvers and independent thinkers.  They need to understand that they are responsible for their education and should take advantage of every opportunity within our school.   Students will be treated with respect and I expect that they will treat me and others with respect as well.   I will do everything in my power to help them become successful students and citizens.

I know this will be a great year and I am looking forward to working with your child!
