Jennifer Jungwirth

I'm very excited for another wonderful school year in the Hoover library.  This will be my 19th year teaching in the Livonia Public Schools. It may surprise you to learn that I began my teaching career at Hoover Elementary as a 1st grade teacher in 2003, where I had the wonderful opportunity to work with many of the current Hoover staff. Since then, I have also taught 1st grade at Cleveland as well as 3rd grade at Cass before earning my master's degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University and transitioning into the school library.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Shawn and our sons, Jackson (14) and Owen (12), reading (of course!), gardening, playing with our 3 cats, and being outdoors. I love hiking, biking, canoeing, and kayaking. I also received a stand-up paddleboard on my last birthday and I LOVE it!  This past summer, we spent time on a Boy Scout high adventure trip sailing and snorkeling in the Florida Keys as well as enjoying our beautiful Lake Huron at the family cottage.  We also spent a lot of time visiting family, swimming, and gardening.

In addition to being the library media specialist at Hoover, I'm also co-chair of the Hoover Eco-Action team.  You can learn more about the Eco-Action team by joining our  Eco-Action Google Classroom.

I strongly encourage all Hoover families to spend at least 20 minutes each day reading. Reading aloud with your child does not have to stop once they begin reading on their own - take some time to share the magic of a wonderful book together no matter the age of your child.
